What our guests have said about this accommodation

We spent also time in luxurious lodges but this is more worthwhile, more experiencing the wild also a clean tent and beds made every day!! more adventurous Yet very comfortable.

Thoroughly enjoyed coming back to stay! Will certainly come again.
Adri Garrod
It was awesome. Thanks for staff that are well trained, knowledgeable and friendly.
Annemerie
Amazing views, extremely relaxing and quiet. Wonderful place to unwind and forget about the rat race. Not a lot of game around, but the peaceful atmosphere makes up for lack of game viewing.
Mark Hopkins
Booking very professional and national park is one of the most beautiful and diverse I have been to. Accommodation is excellent apart from the fact they aren't monkey proof and with the monkeys being so aggressive it really spoilt our stay.

We booked a trip to Kruger Park to start with but my wife took a bad reaction to the Maleria Tablets at the last minute. The sales consultant Jacques Venter was excellent, very understanding and offered us alternative accommodation at Marakele National Park near Thabazimbi. The camp was very good, clean, tidy and based right on the waterhole offering great views of the wildlife from the balconey. Our Game drive Guide Sydney was excellent and very knowledgable about the local wildlife. Would stay at Marakele again and use safari.com to book. Thanks for making a memorable trip.

A fabulous venue for our special Valentines weekend with an efficient and friendly reception... Marakele/Tlopi has to be one of the best kept secrets around. The tents were immaculate, beds comfortable and the setting just perfect.Game viewing wasn't great though but it was still thrilling to know that the BIG 5 was out there somewhere. The scenic drives and secluded picnic spots certainly made up for the lack of BIG 5 viewing. We look forward to a return visit.

The road is in terrible condition, we saw no animals exept Impala, Zebra. Monkeys was a nusance , but staff were great

The camp itself is well laid out & overlooks a dam giving you an awesome 'bush' experience with each tent having it's own wooden deck & braai area, but the braai grids needed fixing as most of them were bent & buckled. Beware of the monkeys & baboons though as they will steal anything that is not locked away!! The game was difficult to find & view though due to there not being enough roads in the reserve. We found the only way to come across game was to venture off the main roads on some 4x4 trails which you need the right vehicle for (luckily we had a Jeep), otherwise it was an awesome stay.

I really enjoyed the stay at the Park. The bird life was good and could be viewed from the veranda. The tented camp is well situated and well equipment. I was very impressed with the size of the fridge. The mattresses on the beds were in a terrible state and sleeping very uncomfortable.
Sue van Langelaar
Had a great time - just think they can paint the deck at the tented camp as it is one's first impression upon arriving there.
Alet
Enjoyed every moment of our visit.Private, clean, well equipped.Stunning view of sunset and waterhole from deck.Loads of birds, stunning views, peace and quite.

We had an absolute lovely time, the monkeys were a huge problem however. A pain all the time, and aggressive as well. We suggest that the base of the kitchen tent gets replaced with real "ogiesdraad".
John Simone
Out stay was lovely. The tents are wonderful, and the kitchen area is well equipped and placed. We had a wonderful time. The game on the "big 5" side was very, very scarce. It would be nice to see some statistics and perhaps some previous sighting on a list or board or something. It would also be nice if the map were updated. There are roads "on the ground" that are not shown at all on the map. It makes things confusing and you never really know where you are. Also, it would be great if there were distances on the map, so you could manage your drive time accordingly. Another suggestion is that on the road to the highest view point, it might be an idea to let everybody know that it is extremely steep and quite treacherous at times, and that it only possible for one car at a time to pass on the road. Perhaps setting a time frame for ascent to the top and then another time frame for descent could be done. Coming across another car on the steepest and narrowest part of that road could prove challenging and dangerous.

Only saw 4 rhinos of the big 5, but it was worth it. Doubt if this park has lions... Tents was lovely but very hot, fan of little use. Sorry that no food or anything whatsoever can be bought inside this park.

So far, great service
This review is for the booking only as we have not taken our trip yet. Safari expert Sara Van Coille has been great to work with. We booked later than we planned and she was able to come up with an itinerary that was perfect for our group. Sara has responded to all our questions and was very quick to get back to me. From our experience so far, we would definitely recommend Safari.com
